COVID-19 guidance and information

Stay at home and book a test if you or any one in your household have coronavirus symptoms

Stay at home and book a test if you have:

  • a high temperature
  • a new, continuous cough
  • a change or loss of your sense of smell or taste

Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.

Tests can be booked by visiting www.nhs.uk or calling 119.

This guidance applies to school staff and pupils equally. Please follow the usual procedure for reporting absence if you feel you need to keep your child off school in line with the guidance above.
If pupils display the symptoms above during their time in school, parents will be contacted and asked to take their children home and seek a test.
As you can imagine, this guidance could have a significant impact on the school and our staffing, as well as pupil attendance. Please be assured we will do everything we can to keep the school running as normally as possible in order to maintain the consistency and routines on which child thrive. I also ask that you show patience and understanding towards all members of the school community who may be more stretched than normal over the coming weeks.
The evidence from around the world all points to the fact that children are less vulnerable to serious ill health and complications linked to COVID-19. However, it is believed children can be infected and therefore transmit the infection to others. Therefore, it is very important that we all follow the Public Health, NHS and government guidance in order to protect those who are in more vulnerable groups.
